Preparation for January

(Original Post on November 18, 2016)

It shouldn’t be news to anyone reading this that Donald Trump has been elected the 45th president of the United States.

There’s been a lot of outrage and fear in response to the news, and for a wide range of reasons. After waging a campaign of racist authoritarianism, Trump is now doubling down with his cabinet selections. Steve Bannon, Trump’s chosen chief strategist, has been decried even by Bush-era neocon policy advisors. Jeff Sessions, his pick for Attorney General, has been widely condemned for his racism. Michael Flynn, his national security advisor, has tweeted that “fear of muslims is RATIONAL.”

Meanwhile, a very large sector of the US population has been mobilizing to resist Trump in various ways. A Google doc titled “Concrete Suggestions in Preparation for January” has been circulating widely. At the moment it’s getting difficult to load the document because of the high demand for access to it, so I’m going to share a .pdf of the document in its current form.

No doubt I’ll be sharing more resources of this nature in the near future.

Let’s fight this.
