These thoughts have to go somewhere

This is about dreaming up solutions to transition to an anarchist economy

It's around -20 degrees celcius today but it feels like -27 degrees. That means it takes a little over 3 hours for the blood in tips of your face and extremities to turn to slush.

It's very cold today. The kind of cold that's got be thinking about R values and Housing.

How to convert housing to anarchist housing on a flexible scale starting only with one person?

I like to think about big questions because even if I get everything wrong, just trying to work through the details drags my mind through all kinds of useful information and I learn so much. Just asking the question and teaching myself what I need to learn to figure out the answer is one of the funnest ways to learn.

This is how far I've gotten in my musings, It's not even partially grown, its like the DNA isn't even written, its just a bunch colorful smoke, and colorful smoke is awesome. So here we go.

It all starts with waste processing. Starting with waste processing is effective for so many reasons.

Some people feel impotent about dealing with their waste. This is scary Some people feel existential dread about climate change. This is scary Some people don't understand the mechanics of pollution. This is Scary Some people don't understand how to test for pollution. This is Scary Some people know that pollution makes us sick and causes climate change. This is Scary.

When people are afraid it's easy to trigger the submissiveness that's been indoctrinated into us by capitalism. Many find themselves conforming to dogma and ideology to create a sense of security in the face of all this fear. Some use this fear to subjugate and oppress others.

As anarchists we should be making ourselves and our comrades feel safe by making ourselves powerful. Knowledge is Power. There is a reason that capitalists deliberately and consistently sabotage and undermine useful education. There's a reason white supremacists and patriarchs have hacked and sliced the history of man into slivers and shards in order to cobble together a white supremacist fantasy.

Actual useful knowledge gives you the power to create stuff and solve problems. It gives you the power to multiply things out of thin air. It gives you the power to predict the future and go back in time. It gives you the power to transmute and merge things. Its absolutely magical.

I want that power, I don't want power over other people, I want power over myself and I want that power for everyone because if everyone has that power, than we're all much safer and we'll feel safer too, which will let us be happy.

So.

Waste Processing is incredibly powerful because almost everything we leave in bags and bins on the curb outside can be processed into manufacturing and agricultural material. We can bring manufacturing and small scale farming into the space by keeping and processing the waste generated by the space or even by the spaces around it.
