When you are developing an application, having a logo is essential. It is the first thing that will be used to differentiate your apps from the others. A good, memorable icon that identifies your project can give it some soul, make it unique.
Meanwhile, as you may have noticed, Plume doesn't have a logo yet. That's why I decided to organize a logo contest, similar to what Pixelfed did, to let the community create and choose a logo.
Here are the rules:
- Provide SVG and PNG files
- Release your work under one of these license: CC-0, CC-BY, CC-BY-SA
- Try to respect the Plume color palette (the violet in the middle is the color that is the most used in the interface presently, other colors are secondary)
- You have until September 30^th to submit your work
To submit your logo, contact me on my Mastodon account (@Bat@unixcorn.xyz) or via email (baptiste @ gelez . xyz
). On October 1^st I will publish a poll for anyone to vote for their favorite logo, and I will close it and announce the winner on October 7^th.
Of course, there will be a financial reward. I can't exactly tell you what it will be, since I'm in a situation where it is hard for me to do a big donation, and that I would have liked to transfer the money I get on my Liberapay account to the winner's one, until a sufficient amount is transferred.
Note that you can also submit a mascot, and that I will organize another vote to choose one if needed.
Also "Plume" means "Feather" in French, if you are seeking inspiration… 😉
Good luck to all the participants!
