It's been a week since I saw the movie, but I'm still kinda blown away by »The Dawn Wall«. It is a documentation about a rock climber and one of the most intense documentations I have ever seen. Great camera work, fantastic narration flow and pretty good pacing. During the first two thirds, I changed between very impressed staring silence, hysterical head-shaking laughter and confused mouth-open astonishment. During the last third, the pace slows down a bit, which created a few lengths, but also increased the excitement.
Even though this is a documentation, one of its strength lies in the story that was completely unknown to me beforehand. So I won't elaborate on that and recommend not to search for any information regarding the story or the involved persons. :)
As both attention and the shown images are important, I further recommend to see the movie in a theatre.
Even if you're usually not into sports: just go watch it. Seriously.
