Baking soda in witchcraft So I’ve been meaning to make more spirit ward, but I’ve been out of cascarilla powder (eggshells). I didn’t want to crack some eggs just to get the shells, so I googled alternatives.
I then stumbled across something amazing that I never knew before.
Baking soda, which is so cheap and readily available, has the same properties as salt: cleansing and purification. It’s been used as a part of Hoodoo/Voodoo practice for centuries, as well as being an important part of folk magic.
Now I’ve finished my ward with baking soda as a base:
Baking soda Eucalyptus Basil Muellin
It’s less harmful to the environment than salt and some even claim that it’s good for plants.
So if you’re looking for a easy replacement for salt (either in death work like me or any other outdoor witchcraft) use baking soda!
