Generative Art and Moroccan Zellige Patterns Zellige Evo 0001 

As an artist passionate about Moroccan zellige patterns and generative art, I have created a collection of designs called “Zellige Evo” to share my explorations and experiments in this field. This collection will be regularly updated with new drawings and patterns, thus presenting the evolution of my work.

This visual research will be published as WIP (work in progress) in order to document the evolution of this idea.

Zellige EVO – 0001

The first drawing in this collection, simply titled “Zellige Evo – 001”, is the result of my initial experiments with my plotter (drawing machine) and the beta version of my “Zellige Pattern Generator”. Thanks to the addition of a dynamic center of gravity, I was able to create these patterns using a repeated hexagonal base on a grid and affected by a dynamic function that changes the size of the base shape.
