BSD or Berkley Software Distribution, usually directs to a family of operating systems which were made from structure of BSD Unix, which is an attempt to make Unix freely available to Berkley students. Then, a bunch of angry programmers forked the code base and created the great gang of FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD and DragonflyBSD.
