I'm sure we have all been bored during this pandemic and I want to show a few games I've been playing to avoid boredom.
Number 1: Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup
Although it's not a pretty game, I love dungeon crawl stone soup. It is a rogue-like that you can play online, offline and in a terminal. I like it much more than say, nethack, because it has a tutorial and more intuitive stuff in it. It's also an official Arch Linux package (stone-soup
.)

Number 2: Cave story NX
Cave story NX is a side scroller that I love. It's pretty much a game where you wake up in a mysterious place and has to help a bunch of rabbit-like people along the way. However, the game's start is pretty unintuitive (it doesn't say the controls) so you will have to go into settings to figure out the controls beforehand.
There are also multiple walkthroughs like this one
How to get it: I used the Flatpak over here to install it.

Number 3: OpenSpades
OpenSpades is a first person shooter with a slight twist. In this fps game, you can build/destroy the terrain so you can make a base etc.
How to get it: OpenSpades is available as a FlatPak, As well as a Snap.
Number 4: 0 A.D.
0 A.D. is a "Game of ancient warfare" - Pretty much a game where you have to get resources to build a city while fending off enemies. I have found out about it less than a week ago and i already love it. It has a tutorial to learn how the game works although it is a bit confusing and rather incomplete in my opinion.
How to get it: You can either get it as a FlatPak or in your distro's repos (it's in archlinux's official repo!)

Number 5: Shattered Pixel Dungeon
Based off of the original Pixel Dungeon, Shattered pixel dungeon is a roguelike meant for mobile (But you can get a desktop version two.) It is mostly created by this awesome dude named 00-Evan who also moderates the subreddit r/PixelDungeon. Pixel dungeon is much simpler than most roguelikes but is (in my opinion) much harder to play. I would recommend reading the wiki before playing because there is a lot you could miss.
How to get it: You can get it for your android phone using F-Droid or The google play store. You can also get it on desktop from Github, using FlatPak or using Snap.
